Rules to follow

(All treatments)

  1. AVOID UV EXPOSURE - stay in the shade and away from sources of refraction such as bodies of water or reflective surfaces while healing. If you go outside cover in something that provides adequate protection

  2. AVOID pools, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms until the skin has returned to normal

  3. DO NOT apply any products on the treated area outside of approved aftercare. You can return to your preferred routine when you’ve completed the healing process

  4. DO NOT scratch, tear, pull or rub off the peeling skin. It needs to shed organically

Tips & Tricks

(All treatments)

  1. If swelling is occurs try to keep the treated area working with the natural drainage flow gravity provides by sitting or standing up-right throughout the day and resting on the back double-pillowed when sleeping. If needed an antihistamine can help as well

  2. Icing the treated area few times in the first 24 hours for 5 minutes at a time can reduce redness, swelling & sensitivity, a freezer bag filled with water & ice cubes works best

  3. When the skin is dehydrated it’s ability to produce new cells is lessened but when properly hydrated cell renewal is heightened; Applying your aftercare a few extra times each day helps speed recovery

  4. Keep aftercare products in the fridge, it gives a boost to their calming properties

  5. When peeling or scaling begins, soak & wash in the shower several times a day helps to speed recovery / lessen itching

  6. Cuticle scissors are great for trimming off peeling skin (careful not to cut yourself!)

Chemical Peel

What to expect

Peeling begins about 3 to 5 days post procedure, however it’s not abnormal to begin sooner or a few days later. It will take 3 to 5 days to complete the initial snake-like shed (sometimes longer). After the shed completes you'll still look / feel a little leathery and experience some dandruff-like scaling for 3 to 5 more days. It takes 10 to 14 days to recover

Expect to feel dry, tight, slightly burned and sensitive to heat throughout the shed

Redness, splotching and darkening of the skin in this time is normal and should subside during or shortly after the shed

DO NOT pick, pull or excessively rub the skin

Microneedling

What to expect

Microneedling makes the skin susceptible to infection. It’s important to NOT contaminate or put anything on the treated area for at least 4 hours post procedure. Avoid showering and activities that may cause sweating in this time

You may have pulsing & stinging sensations for a few hours post treatment. If the skin swells it should subside within 72 hours. Over the following week you’ll feel tight, sensitive to heat, UV and skincare. Redness and bruising is normal. The treated area may become dry, look leathery and scale for a few days. It takes about 5 days to recover

If you start developing pustules this may be a sign of infection and you may need to pickup a benzoyl peroxide facial wash; Most convenience stores carry them. Apply the benzoyl on the treated area, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse. If needed repeat morning & evening prior to recommended aftercare. If the reaction hasn’t cleared within 48 hours go see a doctor for antibiotics. Keep in mind a few whiteheads are normal and may not be a sign of infection, however it could be an allergy to your aftercare; reach out if the situation arises

Phototherapy

What to expect

Side effects vary per person and visit. Expect redness, splotching, swelling, darkening of the treated areas, dryness, scaling, sensitivity to light and heat the following week

Plasma Fibroblast Therapy

What to expect

The plasma dots are susceptible to infection, it’s important to NOT contaminate or put anything on the treated area for at least 4 hours post procedure. Avoid showering and activities that may cause sweating in this time

Expect to feel pulsing, burning and stinging sensations for a few hours post treatment. If swelling develops it will subside in a few days. Over the following week you’ll feel tightness / sensitivity to heat, UV and skincare. As the dots form into scabs it's normal to see redness & scaling around them; The skin should return to normal in 10 to 14 days

If you develop milky or colored fluid this may be a sign of infection and you may need to pickup a benzoyl peroxide facial wash; Most convenience stores carry them.

Cryotherapy

What to expect

Side effects vary per visit; most result in no side effects but some result in redness, dryness, scaling, itching, sensitivity to UV and heat the following week. The treated area typically feels numb for about 30 minutes post procedure, followed by some burning / tingling sensations, this will subside

Laser Hair Removal

What to expect

Treatments result in perifollicular edema (redness & swelling around the follicles), a rash-like response that looks very similar to shaving irritation. The treated hair will purge and side effects will dissipate after a few days
